Protecting Health and Safety During Ability Remodeling Projects
At Ability Remodeling, the health and safety of our clients and team members is our highest priority. In line with CDC guidelines, the following COVID-19 protective measures are strictly enforced across all Ability job sites to reduce the risk of exposure. These protocols are mandatory for all Ability employees and any trade partners working on Ability projects.
Work Area Protection
• Isolated Work Areas: Whenever possible, a confined work area will be created, enclosed with temporary plastic barrier walls, taped on all sides, with a zippered dust door for entry.
• Ventilation Protection: Air filters are taped over any air registers or vents within the work area to reduce dust and airborne particles.
• Safe Pathways: Canvas runners are used to create designated pathways through non-isolated areas of the home.
Personal Protection
• Cover Coughs and Sneezes: All team members are expected to cover coughs and sneezes.
• Hand Sanitizing or Gloves: Employees will use hand sanitizer or wear latex gloves when entering a client’s home.
• Social Distancing: A minimum of 6 feet is maintained between workers; when not feasible, appropriate protective equipment (masks, gloves, etc.) is worn and disinfected regularly.
Cleaning and Disinfecting
• Tool and Surface Sanitization: Frequently used tools, equipment, and surfaces are cleaned and disinfected regularly.
• End-of-Day Clean-Up: All surfaces are thoroughly cleaned before leaving the worksite each day.
• Safe Disposal: Cleaning rags are disposed of after each use to prevent contamination.
• No Eating on Site: Lunch and snacks should be consumed outside or in individual vehicles.
• Shared Tool Protocol: Shared tools are wiped down with disinfectant spray between users.
Miscellaneous Guidelines
• Group Size Limit: Groups are limited to a maximum of 10 people, with enough space to allow for social distancing.
• Sanitation Facilities: Portable toilet facilities, when feasible, will be provided and equipped with hand sanitizer.
• Posted Protocols: These protective measures are posted on every job site for easy reference.
• Regular Safety Meetings: Weekly production team meetings and safety talks will reinforce these guidelines.
• Signed Compliance: All trade partners must review and sign off on these protective measures.
These protocols are enforced as policy, not suggestions. Non-compliance may result in termination of employment, as we are fully committed to safeguarding the well-being of our clients and team members.
